Garden Spaces have recently been exhibiting their garden offices at Grand Designs Live. They took a contemporary garden office building to the show which was finished externally in their new grey larch cladding.
Siberian Larch is comparable cladding to the popular Western Red Cedar; it has similar low maintenance durability and a life span of up to 50 years. This grey larch cladding that Garden Spaces are offering won’t lose it’s original colour like cedar does, though, so it’s a great option if you want a garden room that retains its original appearance.
The cladding has been machined into a contemporary profile and is fixed with a secret nailing technique, so there won’t be visible fixings. The kiln dried boards have a brushed surface which brings out the natural grain of the wood.
All four sides of each board are sprayed with the latest generation of preservative which protects against fungal, insect and bluestain attack.
The boards are finished with a chemical free acrylic resin and natural pigment finish. This industrial quality finish is applied in factory conditions for optimum results. This finish comes with a 10-year guarantee and works alongside and enhances the natural greying process of the cladding as it weathers.
As you can see from these images taken at Grand Designs Live, the cladding creates a very modern look. We believe this will become a very popular alternative to cedar cladding.
