Timeless Garden Rooms were recently commissioned to create a light filled garden office for a writer. Natural light is an important consideration when designing a garden office, and your designer will have several tricks up their sleeve for maximising the light in your new workspace.
Timeless Garden Rooms are known for their pitched roof garden offices which ooze traditional design details and charm. With this building, they have cleverly balanced their traditional design features with extensive glazing fulfilling the customers brief.
In contemporary garden office design, floor to ceiling glazing is popular, but with traditional designs like this, casement windows are much more in keeping. Casement windows are also easy to open, so the customer will have a lot of flexibility when they want to open a window and let some air in.
A pitched roof garden office also offers the opportunity to incorporate some high-level glazing into the building. As you can see a good sized opening Velux window has been positioned at one end of the room.
The combination of all the windows, the vaulted matchboard ceiling and the soft white walls h as created a light-filled room.
This office features a w.c pod at the rear of the building and a small kitchenette with sink, meaning it is self-contained and a real retreat from the main house.
