Sometimes you have an odd shaped area of your garden that would be suitable for a garden office, but a regular square or rectangular shaped garden office is not going to make full use of the space you have available. If you placed a square or rectangular garden office on such a plot you would end up with odd shaped areas of ‘dead’ space which you can’t access or otherwise utilise.
If you find yourself with a plot like this you need to talk to a bespoke garden office supplier like Executive Garden Rooms.
Executive Garden Rooms were recently approached by a client who wanted to get the largest possible garden office footprint out of a ‘non square’ area of their garden. This photo of the site doesn’t really do the challenge justice!
To maximise the footprint of the garden office the Executive Garden Rooms team designed a garden office that followed the lines of the plot. The resulting building only had one 90° wall intersection! The final building would be described as a pentagon shaped as it has 5 sides. The design has squeezed a 14.5 sqm footprint out of the plot which is impressive.
We like how Executive Garden Rooms have positioned the floor to ceiling glazing on the angled walls, flooding the office with natural light. We also like how they have positioned two fanlight style windows on a rear wall, which provide easy ventilation.
While in many cases a garden office can be built without Planning Permission, this garden office did require it as the customers live in a Conservation area. The Executive Garden Rooms team handled the application on their clients behalf.
All Executive Garden Rooms are well specified electrically with plentiful power sockets, LED lighting and if specified data and phone cabling – so its just a case of plugging in your computer and starting work!
