When we built our garden office about 12 years ago we felt we were over specifying 8 double power sockets, giving us 16 places to plug things in. Today I wish we had specified more!
With two of us working from our garden office its amazing how many electrical items we have plugged in – I do like a gadget. Our 16 sockets have quickly been used up and we are now forced to use power socket towers to provide us with extra capacity.
This retro fit solution is far from ideal, as we were found out today as we grappled through the nest of cables under the desk!
Specify more sockets than you need today
Most garden office specialists offer a large number of power sockets as standard. They know that a garden office needs to be well equipped. However we do encourage you to tally up how many sockets you need today and make sure you have a few extra.
It wont be too difficult or too expensive to specify extra sockets when you order your garden office, the expense and difficulty comes if you find you require more later.
Talk to your supplier about future proofing your garden office electrics, and avoid the cable nest under the desk!
