In an ideal world the site for every garden office building would be flat and level, in reality, this is not always the case. Thankfully garden office designers have a number of tricks up their sleeve to overcome unlevel sites, for instance, there are several foundation systems to choose from that allow you to build up the height of part of the site without having to undertake extensive and expensive groundworks.
The thing is some sites are positively sloping and to build a garden office on them will mean you need to work with a bespoke garden office designer who will not only tailor the foundation to the site, but the shape of the building and the general construction to make use of the unusual site.
Miniature Manors have recently built a garden office on quite a steep slope, which might have been considered unsuitable for other suppliers. Their client wanted to create a consulting room in the garden, as a child psychiatrist, she wanted to create a dedicated, professional room where her patients could visit. The thing is with a young family she did not want to steal valuable ‘football’ space from her children. She, therefore, contacted Miniature Manors about building on the sloping area of her garden. As bespoke garden office designers, Miniature Manors were up for the challenge!
Miniature Manors are used to designing unusual shaped, and they have tapered this building to make use of the space available, in fact, they managed to get an impressive 4.8 meter x 4.2 meter building on the plot. A set of steps leading to the large deck area has created a welcoming entrance for visitors to the office.
The office has a light and airy feel thanks to the plastered and decorated interior which is mixed with a set of bifold doors and a skylight window. The building will be a comfortable place to spend time all year round as it is fully insulated.
This project cost around £16,000 which is very reasonable when you consider both the size of the room and the complexity of the site.
This project just shows a garden office can be built on sloping sites! For more information talk to the Miniature Manors team on 01403 610 619 or visit their website.
