Many garden office suppliers have adopted modern pad style foundations or ground screws which are spaced under the building; there are however circumstances where a traditional concrete slab is more appropriate. When it comes to a garden offices foundations, there is no one size fits all solution. Each garden and the intended use of the building should be assessed on its own merits. A good garden office company will talk through your options in detail during your site visit.
This project by GRL – Garden Room Living is a good example of the foundation being chosen specifically around the intended use for the building. GRL was commissioned to design and build a 5-meter x 3-meter garden office in a contemporary style. GRL’s customer intended to store a large number of books in the office and was concerned about the weight of these books. Talking to the GRL team, it was decided that a traditional concrete slab would be the best option to spread the load imposed by the books throughout the foundation.
The GRL – Garden Room Living team were happy to install the concrete base for their client as part of their overall project. In fact, they handled everything for the client from the initial design right through to the site clean-up.
