While wooden garden office designs dominate the industry, we are seeing more and more buyers opt for a building that is not going to require the long-term maintenance that a wood clad office will require. The leading name in no-maintenance garden offices is Booths Garden Studios.
Booths Garden Studios have created a design and building system which means their garden offices can be enjoyed for 25 years or more with no annual maintenance – apart from cleaning the windows from time to time! Booths’ have chosen a palette of materials which hold their colour and won’t rot over the years as they are exposed to the elements.
Dark grey garden offices are a stylish choice
Booths Garden Studios offer several colour options for their buildings. In the course of our work, we are seeing more and more customers opt for black or dark grey buildings. We think that this is a rather stylish choice. Black or dark grey garden offices seem to blend very well with the palettes of greens that are naturally seen in a garden.
One of Booths Garden Studios options is to combine black corner pillars and roof fascia with dark grey doors, windows and wall panels. As you can see from this recent build, it is a stylish combination.
12ft x 9ft garden office
This dark grey garden office is 12ft wide by 9ft deep, that converts to 3.64meters x 2.73meters and is roughly the size of a spare bedroom in a house.
The office features a glazed front elevation comprising a set of French doors in the centre with full height fixed glazed panels to each side. The customer opted to have recessed blinds fitted at the doors and windows to control the light entering the office. Blinds can also be a useful addition if you need a little privacy in your office, particularly if you are overlooked by your neighbours!
A fanlight window was fitted on the left-hand side wall to allow extra light into the office. This opening window allows for easy ventilation on warmer days. It is a good idea to incorporate at least one small opening window into your building. While you can always open the door to let air into the room, there will be times when just opening a window is more convenient. Adding an opening window on a different wall to your doors is a good way to get cross ventilation into the room.
This dark grey garden office building cost around £18,000 including VAT and installation. Booths Garden Studios have their own foundation system which they include in their total build price.
The design of this foundation system means that it can be installed very quickly, without having to wait for concrete to set. The foundation system has also been designed so that it can overcome uneven ground, which is very common.
