The modern design of this 2m deep garden office stands out in range of compact designs currently on the market. This is a bespoke design by Garden Spaces sits on a footprint of 3.32 meters by 2.02 meters, creating an internal floor area of 5.3 square meters.
The simple lines and palette of materials are what make this garden office stand out. The French doors have been positioned to one side of the front elevation leaving a wide panel of cladding alongside. It would have been easy to create a full wall of glazing here, so it is nice to see how the Garden Spaces designers have been brave enough to use a solid section of wall. This solid wall section is enhanced by the cladding. The customer chose to use Garden Spaces new grey larch cladding, this is a specialist cladding that has been treated to extend its lifespan and to maintain its colour.
While there is small opening window has been positioned on the side wall, it is the 900mm x 600mm roof window that will flood the office with natural light. The inclusion of a roof window like this is a clever design trick when creating a small garden office like this.
The grey larch cladding has been paired with grey/black aluminium doors, windows and roof kerbing. This contrasts sharply with the soft colour of the cladding. A shallow canopy has been created on the front elevation. LED downlights have been recessed into this canopy. A PIR sensor has been fitted so these lights switch on, on movement detection, ideal for lighting your way to and from the office and as a security measure.
Internally, Garden Spaces plaster and decorate their offices for a modern, quality finish. A hardwearing laminate floor has been fitted, enhancing the modern look. Garden Spaces offices are highly insulated buildings thanks to their Structurally Insulated Panel (SIPS) core, but for the coldest days of the year a discreet, wall mounted heater has been fitted on the rear wall.
The owner of this office will be able to connect to anywhere in the world thanks to the wifi network that has been created in the office. Garden Spaces use a system that transfers the broadband in your house to the office via the electrical power lines.
